A singer who sings in a soft sentimental way. A crooner is a male singer who sings softly and with emotion. This style of singing was most popular in the 1920’s to the early 1960’s. Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Bing Crosby, are examples of crooners from this time.
